I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted anything... We had Dad and Barb come visit mid-April and we had a wonderful time! While Dad and Kent went fishing on Saturday, Barb and I picked up our cribset and got some other really cool accessories for Peanut's room. On Saturday night, we took them to Murrells Inlet for steamed oysters -- they loved it! On Sunday, the guys went fishing again and Barb and I went for a long walk on the beach...so lovely. We had such a wonderful time while they were here! Dad even helped Kent put the light kit up in the nursery. They'll be back in June for our Pawleys Baby Shower weekend...
We spent Easter down in Waterford at Kent's parents' house with Kristy, Dave, JD, and Allie...a lovely day with a yummy bunny cake that Kristy made. We also went to GranCarol's (a neighbor down there) mini-bottle hunt, Kent got a lot of vodka and even found some Jose Cuervo. While everyone else was hunting, I took a rest on Carol's screened-in porch with the fountain and Koy pond in a rocking chair -- heaven!
Last week, I was in Chicago for the entire week and it was a very strange experience to be away from Kent. I had some swelling in my legs for the first time (which was NOT fun) and I got a lot less sleep but I still had a great week. I got to meet some people that I've worked with for years but never met in person. I was so relieved to get home on Friday and relax this weekend!
Today was Mother's Day and what I call for me "pre-Mother's" Day. Kent and I slept in and then headed out to get some paint for the little table in Peanut's room as well as a couple of wood pieces we're going to hang over the windows. Then we went to Costco (we were out of everything!) and instead of cut flowers for Mother's Day, we got 3 double knock-out rose plants (2 bubble gum pink and 1 magenta) for a blank spot in the back bed. We'll be able to enjoy them for as long as we're in this house and that's my kind of gift!
So on to the new pictures...
