It's a Mama's right to change her mind...or at least I think so!

So we were all set on the bird cribset in my last post until I found a place called the Kangaroo Pouch.  It's like Myrtle Beach's own BabiesRUs and has really great stuff!  They had a cribset called Treetop Friends by Skip Hop (see below) that was ridiculously expensive but absolutely perfect.  They also had all of these wonderful matching toys with birds and owls and a few other owl things by Maison Chic (again see below -- so CUTE).

And the piece de resistance is finding the perfect chair for our nursery.  It may not look like much in the pictures, but it is the most comfortable, easy to get into and out of, soft yummy chair I've tried.  I went in thinking I wanted a fully upholstered chair and after sitting in every single one and trying to get out of it pretending to hold a 10-20 lb sleeping baby, this one did it without fail and without me feeling like I was going to fall over!  It's a lovely sunny yellow color with an extra wide chenille corduroy wale.  It glides, it reclines, it locks, and the ottoman even comes with a lock and a slide out nursing foot stand.  Hooray for me!  Pictures will be added on Tuesday when we pick it up!  Also, I did go ahead and start a registry here as well since they have so many things that I'm in love with for Peanut and I may not be able to find somewhere else.  Check out http://www.thekangaroopouch.net/ which takes you to their facebook page.  Gotta love supporting a local business.

So back to the room...we decided to paint the whole nursery the color of the main wall.  We returned the other bird cribset and found a crib set that will coordinate with all the fun owl/bird/tree accessories.  AND we've narrowed down the decals for the big wall around the crib!  Check out our choices below...I think we're going to have a rockin' (no pun intended) nursery when we're done!

Our Baby Peanut is a BOY!

Well, by now most of you have heard the good news that we're having a baby boy!  Both Kent and I are over the moon with the new reality of a tiny baby boy kicking around in there.  We are having so much fun  finding cute things for our boy to wear and for his nursery!  I am finally feeling little kicks on a regular basis, especially after I eat.  He also loves to tumble around in there at night right before bed.  It's so small it doesn't bother me but I'm sure the kicks will get bigger and more uncomfortable as he grows!  We were so happy to get our genetic testing back with all negatives for downs and spina bifida and that the ultrasound went well.   He looks very healthy in there and there's no doubt he has all his boy parts in tact -- you'll see the "money shot" below!

So now we're focused on names and the nursery and finishing up the registry.  We're pretty close to a name and I expect by our next post we'll be ready to share it with the world!  The nursery is coming along with bits and pieces here and there.  Kent painted the big wall this week and we picked up an ottoman at HomeGoods (one of my absolute favorite stores).  We're still looking for the perfect glider chair which we imagine will be a part of a bedtime ritual for a very long time.  At some point we'll make another trip to Charleston to finish up the registry so there are some blue things on it!  We are registered at BabiesRUs if you're interested in checking out what's on there.

Baby showers are in the works for Texas over Memorial Day Weekend as well as Pawleys in June!  I love to plan them but don't love being the center of attention.  Hopefully it will be easier when most will be looking at my swelling baby belly!

So on to the pictures!  I've also added a link to the bedding we ordered...I'm really hoping it's closer to aqua or robin's egg blue than to traditional baby blue so keep your fingers crossed.  It's due to ship from the manufacturer on April 11th.

Peanut Havel's tiny profile :o) He's pretty stinkin' cute already!

There's a boy in there! Think of this pic like he's sitting on a clear chair and your looking up from the floor...
Painted wall in Grace Harbor (light aqua) -- it's like the sky and so pretty!

Mama posing by the crib...

Mama sitting on the new ottoman... this is all Kent's doing
...at some point we'll get a picture with the 2 of us in it!

Official 20 week shot after a good pilates workout.  Note the new bedroom curtains I made!
Speaking of curtains, I promised to post pics of the living room curtains as well....

I think they really finish the room!

I just took curtains I had already and added a valance to the top to make them longer to fit these windows.
I think the impact is stunning!

And finally, the cribset!  To see a bigger picture, click on the link below...
